Thank you to all the parents/carers who joined us for our Art open-morning last Friday. The morning was a huge success and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to share with you the wonderful work the children have been completing in class. As always, your support it greatly appreciated.
Thank you to Rachel MacManus for taking videos and photographs throughout the morning and creating the following films:
(The first film is longer and includes the talks given by Miss Bodenham and the teaching staff and the second film just has shots of the day and the song)
Parents/carers are very welcome to attend an optional parent/teacher consultation on Thursday 13th July to discuss their child’s end of year school report. There is no appointment system but teachers will be available between 3:30pm and 5:30pm.
There are a number of items of clothing currently in lost property. These will be on display at the end of each school day on the playground between Wednesday 12th – Thursday 20th July. Any clothing left after the end of this school year will be given to Rudry Rascals to be recycled. Everyone is very welcome to come into the playground to see if any items belong to their child.
We kindly ask that all pieces of school uniform, including PE kits are clearly marked with children’s names to greatly reduce the amount of unclaimed uniform.
On Monday 17th July at 1:30pm, we will be hosting our termly instrumental concert. In addition to the usual performances, year six children will also be participating in order to celebrate their time here in Rhydri Primary School and mark their transition to the High School. This promises to be a lovely event for the children before they move up to year seven. Parents and carers are very welcome to join us for the assembly, which will be held in Rudry Village Hall.
If your child attends one of our After School Clubs, the fee of £15.00 is now due for the Summer Term. Any cheques should be made payable to Rhydri Primary School.
If your child receives tuition for a musical instrument in school, the fee of £25.00 is now also due for this Term. Any cheques should be made payable to Caerphilly County Borough Council. Thank you in advance.
This year Special Event will be taking place on Thursday 13th July for Foundation Phase, where children will be visiting Roath Park for the day and Wednesday 19th July for Key Stage 2. Weather permitting; we will be going out for the day.
Special Event is the school’s way of saying thank you to all the children for their dedication to school and their willingness to learn. However, the children are also aware that any misbehaviour at the end of term could lead to not being able to attend.
On the last day of term, good behaviour certificates will also be presented to children who have kept all their ‘golden minutes’ this term. Please share your child’s success with them – this is a great achievement!
*If any parents/carers would like to join us on the trip, please contact your child’s class teacher.
