A very big ‘well done’ to all of the children who took part in the residential visit to Swindon and were excellent ambassadors for our school. There also needs to be an equally big ‘thank you’ to the staff who took the children and gave up so much of their time.
On Monday 17th July at 1:30pm, we will be hosting our termly instrumental concert. In addition to the usual performances, year six children will also be participating in order to celebrate their time here in Rhydri Primary School and mark their transition to the High School. This promises to be a lovely event for the children before they move up to year seven. Parents and carers are very welcome to join us for the assembly, which will be held in Rudry Village Hall.
On Monday 30th January, Year 6 pupils will be attending the annual ‘Crucial Crew’ event. This is organised by the local authority and is designed to raise safety awareness with pupils. The event will take place during the school day. Many thanks to Mr Lloyd for organising the event.
We are expecting the children to arrive back in school at 3.30pm. If anything changes we will update this website.
This week, Year 6 pupils from Bedwas Junior School and Rhydri Primary School are attending the annual school journey at the Liddington Adventure Centre in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the children’s independence and collaborative skills in preparation for the year ahead and High School. Thank you to Mr Lloyd, Mrs Curtis, Miss Slater, Mr Ankin, Mr Price and Mrs Thomas for volunteering for the Year 6 school journey. Without their willingness, the school would be unable to organise exciting events such as this. Thank you also to school clerks, Mrs North and Mrs Luff, for overseeing all administration and liaising with the residential centre.
During the three days, the children will have the opportunity to take part in many activities including climbing, archery, aeroball, canoeing and many more. Photographs of the children on their school journey will be uploaded onto the school website during the visit. Please contact the school office should your require the password.
