We have been informed that some parents have received an email stating the following: ‘As schools will be closing, if you’re entitled to free school meals, please send your bank details and we’ll make sure you’re supported’.
We can confirm that this is a scam email and is not official. We urge parents that if you receive any emails like this, please do not respond, and delete it immediately.
From Monday 30th March 2020 the Authority will provide all eligible free school meal pupils whose parents signed up to this facility via the email below with 5 frozen meals each week. These meals will be delivered to your home address on a weekly basis. Further information with regards to dates and time will be posted by the end of the week.

For everyone’s safety when the free school meals are being collected, please can you form an orderly queue ensuring that you leave at least a 2 metre gap between yourselves and the person in front and behind you.
as a local authority we are prioritising childcare places for emergency blue light service, NHS and social care staff. We have already sent out the childcare application form to email addresses of parents we were made aware of through schools, for completion and urgent return by email. If you believe you (and your partner) are eligible and need this childcare provision next week for school age children and have NOT already received an email with the form please follow this website link:
You need to submit the form by Saturday 5pm if you need urgent childcare next week.
For those eligible for FREE School meals – CCBC will be distributing packed lunches to St James site daily from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March between 11:00 – 12:00. They will have a register on site so there is no need to bring proof of receipt.
All classes have set up a communication hub using either Purple Mash or Teams on HWB website.
Rainbow and Bronze Classes will be communicating through ‘2Blog’ on Purple Mash. To access this page log onto the Purple Mash website using your child’s login. Click the ‘Sharing’ tab at the top of the main page and then ‘Shared Blogs’ to read and contribute to the different blogs.
Silver and Gold Classes will be communicating through ‘Teams’ on the Hwb website. To access this page first log onto the Hwb website with your child’s login. Click on the menu button then Microscoft Office 365. If you click the blue ‘Team’ button here, you can access our class blog where you are able to share photographs, work or any questions you may have. There will also be assignments set which may include PowerPoints etc. for your child to complete. When downloading any documents from Microsoft ‘Teams’, click on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the screen and it will give you the correct option.
