Rudry Rascals

Struggling to leave work in time to collect your child from school?

Need a couple more hours to yourself in the day?

Does your child want to meet up with and play with friends after school?

 Rudry Rascals can help!

We are a not-for-profit organisation providing quality, affordable after school activities for the children of Rhydri Primary School and others living in the area.  We can take up to sixteen children each day from 3 years of age and open every school day from 3.30pm – 5.30pm in Rhydri Primary School.

Our friendly staff facilitate a range of fun activities such as art & craft, imaginary play, games, quizzes, dressing-up, sports, stories and ‘chill time’.  We also provide a healthy snack and drink to keep them going until tea time!

The club is open to all children in the area however we regret that we are unable to offer any transport to the venue.

The cost for this can be from as little as £27.64 per month (dependant on how many days are required per month).  Payment can also be made by Childcare Vouchers.

If you would like to arrange for your child to attend a taster session or for further details please contact Playworks Childcare Ltd. on 029 2080 7187

Lost property

There are a number of items of clothing currently in lost property.  These will be on display at the end of each school day on the playground until the end of the school year.  Any clothing left after the end of this school year will be given to Rudry Rascals to be recycled.   Everyone is very welcome to come into the playground to see if any items belong to their child.

Lost property

There are a number of items of clothing currently in lost property.  These will be on display at the end of each school day on the playground between Wednesday 12th – Thursday 20th July.  Any clothing left after the end of this school year will be given to Rudry Rascals to be recycled.   Everyone is very welcome to come into the playground to see if any items belong to their child.

We kindly ask that all pieces of school uniform, including PE kits are clearly marked with children’s names to greatly reduce the amount of unclaimed uniform.

After-School Provision Update

The school and Rudry Rascals have begun a process of transferring after school provision from the local community hall to the school itself. We were intending to begin using the school as the after school venue from Monday 7th November.  However, the start date has been delayed due to a number of unresolved logistical issues.  The school and the Rudry Rascals team are currently working with the Local Authority to ensure that we can transfer to the school building site as quickly as possible.  We will provide updates as soon as we have further information.

After-School Provision

We were hoping that the school and Rudry Rascals would have begun transferring the after school provision to the school as of today, but unfortunately, this has been delayed.  We would like to reassure parents that we are working towards the transition in the near future and will keep you updated on progress.

After-School Provision

This week, a meeting was held with ‘Playworks’, a company who provide after-school provision and are currently working alongside Rudry Rascals. Over the next few months, the school and Rudry Rascals will begin the process of transferring after school provision from the local community hall to the school itself.  This will prevent issues with travel after school and will also allow children to attend an after school club before joining Rudry Rascals for the remainder of the time.  We will provide updates over the next half term.
