Friends of Rhydri Primary School

Dear All

Welcome letter from Sarah Wilson, PTA Chair

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to Friends of Rhydri
Primary (PTA) The purpose of the PTA is to support the Head Teacher, Staff,
Parents and most importantly the pupils (our children.)
Over the years the PTA has been able to contribute significant funds to aid the
school in enhancing the educational environment for the children, along with
providing some of the more “fun” aspects of school life. Circus skills visit, Cinema
nights, school discos, trips to the Panto at Christmas etc.…

In order to be successful, we know that the support and involvement of the parents,
family & carers of our children, the management and staff at Rhydri and members of
the local community is of utmost importance. We encourage each of you to show
your commitment by joining in.

The first way to show your support will be to participate in the numerous events that
we will be planning throughout the year. Your participation might be as a committee
member, volunteer, or merely as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you
prefer, your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated.

We have an email list, which you can be added to if you would like to help/volunteer
at events. This way we can send out details and requests for help to you directly. So,
if you are unable to attend meetings, which we know are difficult with our busy lives,
you can be kept up to date. We also have a Facebook group that you can follow;
Friends of Rhydri Primary, which we hope, will be a valuable source of
communication.

You can show your support in other ways by providing us your comments regarding our PTA efforts or suggestions and ideas for other potential initiatives. To do this,
please feel free to contact us at the email below or in passing.

We are currently organising a diary of events for the coming school year to include,
School discos, Christmas fayre and Concerts, Sports day, Machen show and our
popular Curry and quiz night.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our first meeting which is to
be held on Tuesday 12 th September at 7.30pm at the home of myself Sarah
Wilson. The address is The Old Griffin, 2 Cwrt Griffin, Rudry, CF83 3JQ
We look forward to working with you all in 2017-18. Thank you

Sarah Wilson – Chair (email rhydripta@outlook.com )
Louise Allen – Gemma Anfield – Tina Callaghan – Sarah Ulett-Proctor
