Friday 15th December is Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day. We would like pupils and staff in Rhydri Primary School to join in with thousands of people from all over the country for this great event and wear their wonderful woollies to school!
All donations will be given to Save the Children. If you do not wish to donate, we would still love to see all children in their festive jumpers.
Well done to the children who performed in the Foundation Phase Christmas Concert on Friday, you were all wonderful! We were very grateful to be able to use the lovely Parish Hall and the Friends provided impressive home made food. Thank you again for the way in which you supported the children and an extra big ‘thank you’ to all the staff, especially Mrs Hayhoe and Mrs Gettings, for working so hard with the children.
Thank you to all parents/carers for your support with the children’s visit to the performance of ‘The Borrowers’ at the Sherman Theatre last week. The children had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed watching a live performance. Thank you to Mrs Luff in the school office for organising the event.
Key Stage 2– The Borrowers – Sherman Theatre – Wednesday 7th December
Foundation Phase – Pinocchio – The Gate – Tuesday 13th December
Thank you to everyone who has returned reply slips and money for the children to attend the theatre as a Christmas reward for their hard work and good behaviour. Please could any outstanding monies be paid to the school office as soon as possible, cheques made payable to Rhydri Primary School.
Unfortunately, we have no spare tickets to issue to parents for either of our Christmas concerts on Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th December. We have currently reached the capacity for the village hall in respect of fire regulations.
The Friends of Rhydri PTA need volunteers to help this Friday at the Winter Fair. Please take a look at what we need below and email me if you can give us a little bit of your time to help. Thank you.
– 1x person to join Emma on the cake stall – selling cakes from 3:30pm onwards.
– 1x person to oversee the craft table – no crafting skills necessary! Just to let the children know what there is they can do. From 3:30pm onwards.
– 1x person to join Gemma on the games (lucky dip, name the soft toy etc.). From 3:30pm onwards.
– Several people to help clear up at the end (around 6pm) putting away tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping, taking down santa’s grotto etc.)
