We are thrilled the weather has improved, which will allow Rhydri Primary Sports to take place today. Events are due to start at approximately 1:15pm (Nursery children will need to meet their class teacher at the village hall field to sit with their peers in their correct houses). Please see your class teacher if you cannot remember what house your child is in.
We welcome all parents/ carers, but request that you bring your own chairs to sit on.
As well as selling refreshments, the PTA will also be selling raffle tickets and Rhydri canvas bags. All funds raised are used to continue to provide those little extras and enhance the children’s time and experiences at Rhydri Primary School.
This annual event will be held on Saturday July 7th 2018. The Friends of Rhydri School PTA will be hosting a Bear and Book agency stall and are looking for donations of good quality teddy bears and children’s books.
The PTA are also looking for volunteers to help man the stall between 12pm-3pm and 5pm-6pm, if you can spare 30 minutes or an hour on Saturday 7th July please leave your contact details with Ms Charlesworth in the school office with your preferred time or comment on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Friends-of-Rhydri-Primary-School-176501882367326/)
The School will also be running a stall with Gold class next to the PTA stall, so please come along and support us all on the day
The Daily Mile is a national initiative that aims to improve the physical, emotional, social and mental health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances. Every child in a school or nursery goes out each day in the fresh air to run, jog or walk at their own pace for 15 minutes. It is not competitive, though some will compete and that is fine.
Most children will average a mile in the 15 minutes, with some doing more and some doing less. The children will take part in their ordinary school clothes with trainers being ideal, but not essential. It can help children to focus and concentrate in the classroom, raise their attainment and most importantly, the children will really enjoy it.
We would like to introduce The Daily Mile for all the children at our school. Every afternoon Foundation Phase children will walk down to the village hall field through Dormouse trail, walk/run around the field once then return back to school. Junior children will complete the same walk every morning but will complete two laps around the field before returning to school.
As a school we are really excited about this new initiative and we are looking forward to the benefits it will bring to your child or children. To find out more about how it all works please visit: http://www.thedailymile.co.uk.
If your child has any sponsorship money collected for the ‘Danceathon’ that they participated in prior to half-term, can they please hand in forms and donations tomorrow morning as a representative from the NSPCC will be in to collect. Thank you.
