Eisteddfod

We will be holding our Eisteddfod on Friday 28th February, children have been invited to dress in Welsh Costume or Welsh related clothing for this event.

Those children who play a musical instrument in school and have been asked to participate in the Eisteddfod, are reminded to bring their instruments in to school on Friday.

Also please remember to bring in the children’s half term homework of the Love spoons by Thursday (tomorrow) so they can be judged for Friday.

Fire update

We have had a small electrical fire in Rainbow class. The fire started before school this morning and was quickly attended to by the Fire Service who contained the fire. We have been supported by Caerphilly County Council and the Fire and Rescue Services and we are quickly putting things in place to sort repairs. Thank you to the Fire Service for allowing the children of Rainbow class, the chance to have a sit in the fire engine. The school will be open as normal but Rainbow class are now to be dropped off and picked up from the main door.

Eisteddfod

As Saint David’s Day is coming up, we will be holding an Eisteddfod celebration in Rhydri Village Hall for both Bedwas Junior School and Rhydri Primary School on Friday 28th February 2020. Children are invited to wear Welsh costumes or red clothing.

Eisteddfod Home Craft Competition

As part of the Eisteddfod, one of the competitions children are invited to participate in is the home craft competition. This year all children will be invited to make a Love Spoon that represents themselves. This could be as simple as a drawing on paper to a 3d model- be as creative as you like! We will be judging the entries from each class on originality and how much work the children have contributed.
