It has been another fantastic year for the children at Rhydri Primary School. Miss Slater and I would like to thank the parents and the wider community for supporting the school over the Summer term and helping the pupils continue to be well behaved, polite and hard working; it has been greatly appreciated. We wish the very best for the Year 6 pupils who are moving on to secondary school. They have acted as role models for everyone in school and should feel very proud of all their achievements. Thank you also to the teaching and support staff. Their ongoing commitment to their respective roles ensures that they have played a major role in the success of the school.
Most of all, however, we would like to thank the children across the school for their continued positive attitude to their learning and their overall contribution to the school. It is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be part of Rhydri Primary School.
Children’s last day in school will be Thursday 20th July and they will return to school on Wednesday 6th September. Nursery pupils will return to school on Monday 11th September.
Have a wonderful Summer break and we look forward to welcoming our new Head Teacher, Mr Richard Cook in the Autumn term.
We will be holding a non-uniform day on Thursday 20th July for the charity ‘Shine’. We are really proud that Carys Marnell, one of our year 5 pupils, will be climbing Pen-Y-Fan on Saturday for the charity. To show our support, all donations will go towards Carys’ fundraising efforts. Good luck Carys, we know you can do it!
Thank you to the PTA members who have continued to work tirelessly this academic year to fundraise for new equipment and resources across the school. Your efforts have been greatly appreciated by all staff and pupils and we look forward to more events in the Autumn term.
Our end of year Special Event to Margam Park will be taking place tomorrow. Weather permitting; we will be going out for the day.
Special Event is the school’s way of saying thank you to all the children for their dedication to school and their willingness to learn. However, the children are also aware that any misbehaviour at the end of term could lead to not being able to attend.
There are a number of items of clothing currently in lost property. These will be on display at the end of each school day on the playground until the end of the school year. Any clothing left after the end of this school year will be given to Rudry Rascals to be recycled. Everyone is very welcome to come into the playground to see if any items belong to their child.
If your child attends one of our After School Clubs, the fee of £15.00 is now due for the Summer Term. Any cheques should be made payable to Rhydri Primary School.
If your child receives tuition for a musical instrument in school, the fee of £25.00 is now also due for this Term. Any cheques should be made payable to Caerphilly County Borough Council. Thank you in advance.
