This year, Rhydri and Bedwas pupils will be celebrating St. David’s Day together in Rudry Village Hall during the morning of Wednesday 1st March. All children are requested to wear Welsh themed or red clothing to school on this day.
Throughout the morning of celebrations, children will be reciting Welsh poems, singing Welsh songs and performing with their musical instruments. Each class will be performing their poems on the stage in front of the rest of the pupils.
As part of the Eisteddfod celebrations, we ask that all children complete a piece of art work with a Welsh theme:
- Nursery-Year 2: Create a 3D model of any aspect of Wales, e.g. sheep, castle, daffodil, dragon etc.
- Years 3-6: Create a still life of a vase of daffodils on A4 paper/card. The art work can be presented in any way children wish, e.g. collage, paint, pastels etc.
We ask that all art work is returned to school on Monday 27th February. The winners of the competition will be announced during the joint Eisteddfod.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
