The Friends of Rhydri School PTA would like to wish all parents a happy new year. We are a small group of parents who meet up to arrange events to fund-raise for the school; both to provide academic aids the school might not otherwise afford (such as a projector, reading books aimed at the boys and chess sets) and to give the children treats for good behaviour (such as circus skills training).
We also make sure that all the school events have wonderful cakes and drinks for you to enjoy! However there aren’t many of us in the PTA so it is really difficult for us to keep up the level of support the children are used to. We really need your help.
While it would be great if people have a lot of time to donate or have wonderful craft or culinary skills, none of these are remotely essential. All we need are people willing to do something such as:
– Helping ring around for sponsors for the calendar or for donations to our raffles;
– Helping set up the gazebos at sports day;
– Spending an hour on one of the stands at the fayres encouraging others to buy or take part in the games; or
– Brewing tea at an event.
Don’t worry, we really won’t pressurise anyone into doing more than they will feel comfortable with – an hour’s help is splendid! If this could be you then please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘I’m a friend of Rhydri’ in the message title.
We also have a meeting on the 10th January at the Fisherman’s Rest in Bedwas at 7.30pm and one on the 19th January at 3.30pm at school and would love to meet you if you would rather just meet us.
From the Friends of Rhydri School committee.
