Starting on 27th June, children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be taking part in a two week project titled ‘Take One Picture’. The aim of this project is for classes to use a piece of art work as ideas for their learning across literacy, numeracy and other subjects. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to be creative and develop their knowledge and understanding of art.
Children will be visiting Cardiff Museum to see their class’ chosen piece displayed in the gallery on Tuesday 7th June. During the following week, children will work with their teachers to plan out the lessons to take place within the project.
Entry to the museum is free; however, to cover the cost of the coaches parents are asked to contribute £3.00. Children will be off the school premises all day and will therefore need a packed lunch as well as a suitable coat. Children in receipt of free school meals will have a lunch provided. Children are also allowed to bring a maximum of £5.00 to spend in the museum shop.
If any parents/ carers would like to volunteer to accompany the trip, please contact your child’s teacher. The trip will take place on the first day back after half term Therefore it would be really appreciated if all parents/carers could sign the slip at the end of today’s newsletter and return to school as soon as possible.
