Attendance – 100% target for Summer Term

Thank you to everyone who ensures that their child is in school as much as reasonably possible. As you are aware, the school is very committed to ensuring that all pupils are in school every day.

The school’s overall attendance fell last year, with the majority of pupils taking time off during the summer term. This is in contrast to the majority of other schools that saw their attendance increase.

Therefore, to encourage all pupils to come to school every day during the summer term, we are offering a prize for every child who achieves 100% attendance. Every child who is in school from Monday 11th April to Wednesday 13th July will be able to choose one of the following choices:

  • An IT session provided by a trainer from the Apple Store in Cardiff;
  • A 2-3 hour taster surfing session at Rest Bay in Porthcawl;

Children who have medical appointments will need to have their registration marks for both the morning and afternoon sessions. Children with disabilities or significant medical conditions who have specific appointments as well as those who require time for religious observance will be exempt on these days.  Children who attend activities of an educational nature including music exams will also be exempt.
