Next week, as part of Healthy Lifestyles’ week, the school is holding a ‘walk to school week’ following the successful one in the autumn term. Therefore, we would really appreciate it if children are encouraged to walk or cycle to school for part or their entire journey. The competition is running throughout the week between the classes to see which class walks/cycles to school the most and the winning class will win double golden time on Friday. We hope all children will participate where possible and support their classes. Every journey will count! The winning class will win the ‘Golden Boot’ at the end of the week.
We will be encouraging parents to park in Rudry Parish Hall carpark and walk to school using the Dormouse trail. Mrs Banks and Mrs Eveleigh will be at the Parish Hall carpark from 8:30am to ensure that the children walk safely to school. Mrs Sian Tucker, the DWR community voice coordinator, has kindly organised for the children to have high visibility jackets for their journey. Thank you to Mrs Banks for organising ‘Walk to School’ week.
