Eisteddfod

This year, Rhydri and Bedwas pupils will be celebrating St. David’s Day together in Rhydri Village Hall on the afternoon of Tuesday March 1st. All children are requested to wear Welsh themed or red clothing to school on this day.

Throughout the afternoon of celebrations, children will be reciting Welsh poems, singing Welsh songs and performing with their musical instruments. Each class will be performing their poems on the stage in front of the rest of the pupils.

As part of the Eisteddfod celebrations, we ask that all children complete a piece of art work linked to Wales, e.g. Welsh flag, dragon, leek, daffodil, rugby player, love spoon, Caerphilly Castle etc. The art work can be presented in any way children wish, e.g. collage, paint, 3D art work etc. For display purposes, we request the art work is no larger than A4 in size. We ask that all art work is returned to school by Wednesday 24th February. The winners of the competition will be announced during the joint Eisteddfod.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
