Parents/carers may be aware that all schools are colour coded under the National Categorisation system.
The system which has been revised since 2015 helps the Local Authority to identify schools:
- needing the most support and guidance;
- doing well but that could be doing better;
- that are highly effective and can help others improve.
As a school we are pleased with the significant progress that the school has made in the last twelve months. This is reflected in the improved category compared with 2015 and the very positive feedback from Estyn in July 2015.
However, due to the difficulties that Rhydri Primary experienced from September 2013 – July 2015, there remains support in place through the local authority with the continued partnership with Bedwas Junior School. This will ensure that expectations are high and standards continue to improve year-on-year. We look forward to moving further up the coding ranks over the next twelve months.
